Invite a student
What this does
Create a student account and optionally send the student's sign-in link.
Before you begin
- You'll need the student's school email address.
- If your school uses SIS sync, check whether the student may already exist in the synced roster.
Steps
1. Open Students
Go to Students in the left-hand navigation.
2. Select Invite Student
Select Invite Student to open the invite form.
3. Enter the student's details
Enter the student's school email address and name.
4. Add the student's grade
Add the student's grade if needed.
5. Choose whether to send the invitation email now
You can send the sign-in email now or create the account and send it later.
6. Select Create Account
Select Create Account to add the student to your roster.
What happens next
- The student is added to your roster
- If you chose to send the invite email immediately, the student receives a sign-in link
If something looks wrong
The student did not get the invitation email
- Confirm the student's email address is correct.
- Resend the invitation.
- If the email address is wrong, create the account again with the correct email address.
Your school also uses SIS
Addie can merge student accounts when your school uses SIS and you also invite a student manually.
- Addie matches the account by email.
- For SIS sync to provision and merge the accounts correctly, the emails must match exactly.
