Create a prompt suggestion
Who this is for: School Admins Time: 5 min You'll need: School Admin access
What this does
Create a named prompt button that appears in chat, so students or counselors can trigger a pre-written prompt with one click.
Before you begin
- Only School Admins can add or edit prompts for their school. Other counselors can view existing prompts but must contact their admin to change them.
Open Prompt Suggestions
Select Prompt Suggestions in the left-hand navigation.
Choose a tab
Select Student Prompts, Counselor Prompts, or Letter of Recommendation (if enabled), depending on who should see this prompt.
Select Add Prompt
This opens the create form. Select Show Examples to see sample prompts you can click to auto-fill.
Enter a Prompt Name
This is the only text the end user sees as the button label — make it clear and descriptive.
Enter the Prompt Content
This is the instruction sent to Addie when the button is clicked. Users never see this text directly.
Set the options
- Check Draft-Producing Prompt if this prompt is meant to generate a document, like an email or letter.
- Check Active so the prompt shows up for users. Unchecked prompts stay hidden.
Select Create Prompt
What happens next
- The prompt appears under School Prompts for your school, and shows in chat for anyone it's active for.
- Global Prompts (visible to all schools) are read-only and can't be edited here.
