What this does
Use My Files to manage documents you want available in Addie.
Before you begin
- Sign in to Addie.
- Open My Files from the left sidebar.
Open My Files
Select My Files from the sidebar.
Upload a file
If you do not have files yet, select Upload File.
If you already have files, select Upload.
You can drag and drop a file or browse for one.
Add a display name if you want
You can keep the default file name or enter a clearer display name before uploading.
Finish the upload
Select Upload to add the file.
Open a file later
Select a file in the list to open or preview it.
Depending on the file type, Addie may:
- preview it in Addie
- open it for editing if it is a text-based document
- download it directly
Manage a file from the menu
Select the menu button next to a file to:
- Download
- Rename
- Delete
- Edit for supported text files such as
.mdor.txt
What happens next
- Uploaded files stay in My Files until you delete them.
- Some files help give Addie more context.
- If a file cannot be read for text, Addie may show that its text is not available.
If something looks wrong
My file will not upload
- Check that the file type is supported.
- Check that the file is under the size limit shown in the upload window.
Addie says text could not be extracted
- The file may still be stored successfully.
- It just means Addie could not read useful text from that file.
I uploaded the wrong file
- Open the file menu.
- Rename it if the file is correct but the name is confusing.
- Delete it if you do not want to keep it.
